Job Description
The Digital Marketing Specialist is a dynamic hybrid role that supports both YWCA Health & Fitness and the broader YWCA BC marketing and communications team. In this position, you will spend three days per week supporting marketing and member communications for the YWCA Health & Fitness Centre, and two days supporting organization-wide marketing and communications initiatives.
The YWCA Health & Fitness Centre is one of YWCA BC’s social enterprises. Located on Hornby Street in downtown Vancouver, the 30,000-square-foot adult facility features a gym, pool and fitness studios, and plays an important role in generating revenue that helps fund YWCA BC programs and services across the community.
In this role, you will contribute to the growth and engagement of the Health & Fitness Centre by helping to plan, execute and optimize integrated marketing campaigns that drive member acquisition, engagement and retention. At the same time, you will support YWCA BC’s broader marketing and communications efforts by creating compelling content, promoting programs and services, and helping to amplify the organization’s impact.
What you’ll be doing
Health & Fitness Marketing (3 days/week)
- Support marketing initiatives that drive member acquisition, engagement and retention for YWCA Health & Fitness.
- Execute member communications, social media and internal communications for Health & Fitness programs, promotions and services.
- Maintain a monthly and seasonal social media calendar aligned with sales and program cycles.
- Publish daily social media content, monitor comments and messages, and escalate emerging issues or sentiment concerns when needed.
- Support digital marketing initiatives including SEO and paid campaigns, working closely with the YWCA BC marketing team and tracking weekly performance indicators.
- Update website, app and campaign landing pages, ensuring links, tracking and content are accurate.
- Develop digital and physical marketing assets in alignment with YWCA brand standards.
- Provide internal communications templates and messaging to support member experience staff.
- Promote programs and events through coordinated marketing activities including landing pages, email campaigns, social media and post-event recaps.
- Track and report on channel performance, maintaining KPI dashboards and supporting a test-and-learn approach to marketing optimization.
- Ensure compliance with privacy, consent and brand guidelines.
- Other duties as required.
Organizational Marketing & Communications (2 days/week)
- Support integrated marketing and storytelling initiatives that advance YWCA BC’s programs, advocacy and fundraising efforts.
- Plan, manage and analyze digital advertising and social media campaigns.
- Design and produce marketing materials (e.g., digital and print ads, web content, collateral, email campaigns) in alignment with YWCA BC brand standards and messaging.
- Create, curate and publish engaging content (photos, videos and copy) across digital platforms, including campaign landing pages designed to convert audiences to action.
- Support visual storytelling, including concept development, photoshoot planning, content creation and basic video editing.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain an integrated content calendar and ensure consistent, high-quality storytelling across marketing channels.
- Contribute to awareness and fundraising campaigns through audience segmentation, strategic planning, content development and execution.
- Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring consistent visual and narrative identity across all touchpoints.

What you’ll need
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related discipline.
- Minimum two years of progressive marketing experience, including campaign planning, digital advertising, graphic design, social media, content marketing and analytics.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro).
- Experience with digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp and Canva.
- Experience working with content management systems (Drupal experience is an asset).
- Knowledge of SEO and SEM principles, including keyword research and optimization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines while collaborating across teams.
- Understanding of gender equity and inclusion issues, with the ability to communicate these topics clearly and sensitively.
- A strong commitment to IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility).
- A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations).
Bonus qualities (but not required)
- Experience in the non-profit or social services sector.
- Experience with video production or editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, VEED or equivalent).
- Understanding of trauma-informed approaches.

Pay Rate: $35.02 per hour based on a 35h/week
