Job Description

The Equity and Engagement Manager plays a key role in advancing our commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA), including Truth and Reconciliation. This role leads organizational culture and engagement initiatives, working collaboratively across teams to embed equity principles into policies, practices, and everyday work. 

You will partner with leaders, managers, and employees to build capacity, strengthen engagement, and support meaningful organizational change aligned with our commitments and values. Through strong relationship-building and influence, you will lead and advance IDEA initiatives across the organization, ensuring alignment, integration and sustained impact.  

In this role, you will:  

 

  • Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of IDEA initiatives across the organization, including advancing policy development, and embedding sustainable practices.  

  • Lead and facilitate collaboration with staff equity committees and leadership teams to advance and operationalize priority areas including Truth and Reconciliation, Gender Inclusion, Racial Equity, and Accessibility.  

  • Assess organizational practices by reviewing systems, policies, and procedures, and recommend and implement changes to remove barriers and advance equity.  

  • Analyze workforce data and engagement feedback to identify current and emerging trends, uncover systemic barriers to inform organizational equity and engagement priorities.  

  • Design and deliver organizational-wide learning and engagement initiatives that build IDEA capacity and support behaviour and culture change across the workforce.  

  • Partner with People & Culture, equity committees and cross-functional teams to shape and support broader HR and organizational development initiatives through an IDEA lens.  

  • Communicate and promote equity and engagement strategies to ensure alignment and understanding across the organization.  

  • Provide counsel and guidance on equity-related issues to support decision-making and ensure alignment with organizational commitments. 

  • Leads workplace wellness and annual holiday breakfast initiatives 

  • Other duties as assigned 

 

What You Bring: 

 

  • A diploma in Human Resources or Business, or an equivalent combination of education and work or lived experience 

  • Strategic leadership experience and demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, develop strategies and lead the implementation of equity, inclusion, and organizational culture initiatives. 

  • Strong understanding of IDEA principles, including Truth and Reconciliation 

  • Ability to analyze data (e.g., workforce metrics, survey results) and translate insights into action 

  • Skilled in facilitation, collaboration, and leading stakeholder engagement across diverse groups 

  • Experience developing policies, programs, or organizational initiatives 

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, guide decision-making and support change 

  • Ability to recognize and address bias, and to engage in reflective practice that supports equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive approaches 

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within diverse and complex environments, with strong cultural fluency and the ability to build trust and engage respectfully across differences in identity, experience, and perspective 

  • A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.

Pay Rate: $40.32 per hour
