Job Description

The Sales & Growth Specialist is a hands‑on role responsible for driving membership sales, membership growth and membership revenue for the YWCA Health & Fitness Centre.

This is an execution‑focused sales role that sits underneath the Sales & Marketing Manager and works closely with the Digital Marketing Specialist and Member Experience Supervisor. The position is ideal for a motivated sales professional who enjoys relationship‑building, outbound outreach and converting interest into long‑term, engaged members.

The YWCA Health & Fitness Centre is one of YWCA BC’s social enterprises. Located on Hornby Street in downtown Vancouver, the 30,000-square-foot adult facility features a gym, pool and fitness studios, and plays an important role in generating revenue that helps fund YWCA BC programs and services across the community.

What you’ll be doing:

Membership Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Drive new membership sales through outbound prospecting, local business outreach, partnerships and community engagement.
  • Manage and convert inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns, referrals, events and walk‑ins.
  • Conduct structured membership tours and onboarding conversations that support conversion and early retention.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline focused on sustainable membership growth.

Sales Enablement & Conversion

  • Test and refine sales scripts, tour experiences and follow‑up practices to improve conversion rates.
  • Identify friction points in the member acquisition and onboarding journey and recommend improvements.
  • Support new‑member onboarding touchpoints in collaboration with the Member Experience Supervisor.

Collaboration & Alignment

  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing Specialist to align campaigns, promotions and messaging with sales goals.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to ensure consistent hand‑offs and a strong first experience for new members.

Tracking, Reporting & Insights

  • Track and report on sales activity, pipeline performance, conversion rates and membership revenue.
  • Share insights and recommendations to inform sales and marketing strategy and continuous improvement.
  • Support a test‑and‑learn approach to improving membership acquisition outcomes.
  • Other duties as required.

What you’ll need:

  • Proven experience in sales, business development or revenue‑generating roles, ideally in a membership‑based or service environment.
  • Strong relationship‑building and communication skills, with confidence engaging new prospects.
  • Comfort working with sales targets, metrics and performance accountability.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and follow‑through.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, lead tracking or sales reporting tools is an asset.
  • Alignment with YWCA BC’s mission and values, and a commitment to IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility).
  • A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations).
