Volunteer Description

We’re seeking friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to support our trainers, staff, and fellow volunteers in keeping the Health & Fitness Club running smoothly. As a Fitness Floor Volunteer, you'll play a key role in maintaining a welcoming environment and shaping the member experience, helping create an inclusive space where our members feel supported in their health and wellness journeys.

The YWCA Health & Fitness Club is one of YWCA BC’s social enterprises. Located on Hornby Street in downtown Vancouver, the 30,000-square-foot adult facility features a gym, pool and fitness studios, and plays an important role in generating revenue that directly supports the YWCA BC’s programs and services across the community.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist instructors with class set-up
  • Clean, organize, and maintain equipment areas
  • Help create a safe, welcoming environment for all members

 What you’ll need:

  • Friendly and approachable with a positive attitude
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Current CPR-A/AED certification
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to bend, squat, and reach as needed
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (required prior to starting)
