YWCA Relate
YWCA Relate is a free, interactive workshop series that helps youth build healthy relationships, strengthen communication skills and develop the confidence to advocate for themselves and others while building the skills to prevent relationship violence.
Workshops are delivered in schools and community settings and can be tailored to meet the needs of youth-serving organizations.
Participants learn how to identify, build and maintain healthy relationships through exploration of personal values, boundaries and strategies for dealing with conflict.
Participants learn the purpose of stress and the ways it can manifest in the body through examination of their own stress responses and different strategies for stress management and prevention.
Participants learn about stereotypes, power dynamics and privilege through exploration of their personal identities and different strategies for advocating for themselves and others.
Our facilitators use a trauma-informed, culturally-inclusive and strengths-based approach to create safe spaces where youth can learn, ask questions and build practical life skills.
The Leadership and Development Program empowers young adults aged 18–30 to become changemakers in their communities through leadership training, mentorship and hands-on facilitation experience. Participants build confidence, strengthen employability skills and gain the tools to promote healthy relationships and create positive social change.
